How to measure a dog?

Every dog is unique, so check their measurements carefully to ensure the best fit.

All the measurements needs to be measured:
- shoulder height from the paw to the top of the back
- body length from the neck to the base of the tail
- width measured at the widest part — shoulders or belly

Pet Shell FAQ

Preorder via e-mail: You can purchase a Pet Shell by sending us an e-mail at kivi@pet-shell.com with preferences and details. We will get back to you and make sure your pet gets the Pet Shell that suits them best.

Materials Used: We use high-quality wood for the structure, hemp wool for insulation, and either faux leather or a wool/cotton blend for upholstery—because your dog deserves the best!

Size Options: The Pet Shell comes in two sizes:
Small: For dogs with a shoulder height of up to 40 cm and a maximum width of 15 cm (measured at the shoulders or belly, depending on the dog’s build). Perfect for breeds like Maltese, Jack Russell, Pomeranian, French Bulldog, Boston Terrier, Chihuahua, and others.
Medium: For dogs with a shoulder height of up to 55 cm and a maximum width of 25 cm. Ideal for breeds like Border Collie, Lagotto, Cocker Spaniel, Australian Shepherd, Beagle, Bull Terrier, Poodle, and more.
If your dog is between sizes, we recommend going for the larger one. The listed breeds are just a guide—every dog is unique, so be sure to consider their individual measurements.
Larger sizes will be available on demand.

Color Options: The Pet Shell will be available in two beautiful colors: bright wood and dark cherry wood. The dark cherry option will be an add-on for an additional cost.

Opening the Pet Shell: The Pet Shell is simple to open using the latch inside. During the acclimatization period, you can leave it open at all times if your dog prefers. This also makes cleaning or replacing cushions quick and hassle-free.

Cleaning Instructions: To keep your Pet Shell in great shape, open the door, vacuum the wooden parts and wipe them down with a damp cloth. Avoid using steam devices, as they can damage the protective oil coating. Please don’t scrub with the rough side of a sponge.
For the covers and padded lid, clean with a damp cloth and, if needed, use a neutral detergent, fabric cleaner, or cleaning foam. Avoid harsh cleaning agents and steam devices, as these could harm the materials.
The cushion is just as easy to clean. You can remove the cover, take out the foam, and machine-wash the cover at 30°C on a delicate cycle. Since the cushion is water-repellent, spills won’t soak in if wiped immediately. However, if left for too long, the liquid may seep through the fabric.

Noise Reduction: The Pet Shell reduces noise by more than half. While your dog can still hear sounds, the reduction creates a more peaceful environment. And don’t worry—they’ll still hear you if you call them!

Signs of Comfort: You’ll know your dog loves their Pet Shell if they go in on their own and stay there. Many dogs will use it several times a day for short, relaxing breaks. And when something exciting happens, they’ll come out to join the fun!
